The DC Academy was initially proposed in 2023, with the objective of providing practical and cutting-edge education on metadata strategy and implementation through a series of standards-oriented and technology-oriented training programs. The inaugural webinar was delivered on October 10th 2024, with four further courses delivered in the 2024/2025 session. The Director of the DC Academy is Jian Qin,
Professor of the iSchool at Syracuse University and the Associate Director is Inkyung Choi, Associate Professor, Sungkyunkwan University.
