DCMI Incorporated as Non-Profit (Singapore)
2008, the Dublin
In December 2008, the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative incorporated as an independent not-for-profit company in Singapore. This legal incorporation (as a Company Limited by Guarantee) gave DCMI a formal organizational identity and autonomy. OCLCÂ’s role as host officially ended, and DCMI began operating under its own governance and finances, establishing an oversight committee and maintenance responsibilities for the Dublin Core standards.
