The National Library of Finland becomes DCMI's first National Affiliate
period, with the
May 2003 saw the National Library of Finland become the first institution to join the DCMI Affiliate program. DCMI Affiliate organistaions joined for a three year period, with the option of renewal at the end of the period. DCMI Affiliates would play a role in developing links between communities of practice nd DCMI, including promoting the adoption of Dublin Core, providing training and consultancy and maintaining translations of DCMI standards. The National Library of Finland is is currently one of the three DCMI Regional Memebers, with Osma Suominen representing the Library on the DCMI Governing Board.
