DCMI Becomes Independent (Trustees & Governance)

2001, DCMI had
By early 2001, DCMI had established a governing Board of Trustees and formalized its organizational home. OCLC, which had hosted DCMI, helped set up an independent DCMI Board in 2001oclc.org. This transition in governance allowed DCMI to operate as an independent, community-driven initiative, with OCLC and international partners providing support and oversight until full incorporation in 2008.
