In March 2000, the European Committee for Standardization published CWA 13874:2000, officially defining the Dublin Core Metadata Element Set, Version 1.1dublincore.org. This CEN Workshop Agreement was an important regional standardization, aligning Dublin Core with European standards and paving the way for later ISO standardization. (Version 1.1 incorporated minor adjustments and clarifications to the 15 elements.)
